Regional Specialized Conventions

Regional specialized conventions refer to international meetings regularly held or plan to be held in Daegu that are centered around
the region’s industrial strengths and characteristics. The Daegu Convention & Visitors Bureau and MICE Alliance offers comprehensive and
strategic support for hosting to develop the region as the leading brand for conventions in each of its internationally competitive industries.

Asia Pacific Anti-Aging Course

APAAC is the first and only international medical training convention hosted by
a regional branch of the Korean government, and was successfully hosted for
the first time in 2018. Co-hosted by the Asia Pacific Anti-Aging Course
Committee and the Daegu Convention & Visitors Bureau, APAAC trains medical
professionals from over 20 countries across Asia and aims to take the region’s
medical expertise worldwide and become the representative convention
for anti-aging in Asia.

Global Robot Business Forum

As a business forum leading Daegu’s robotics industry in the era of
the 4th Industrial Revolution, the forum aims to connect robotic clusters around
the world and promote mutual advancement. The event envisions building
a global networking platform for the robotics industry and establishing itself
as a business-centered global forum in collaboration with 14 robotic clusters
from 12 countries including Korea, the U.S., France, China, Russia, Singapore,
and Malaysia.
Daegu International Future Auto Forum (DIFA)

The event is Korea’s first conceptual future auto expo created to show the city’s commitment to fostering the growth of the region’s future auto industry.
The event is held with the goal of developing the industry by predicting changes and trends in the overall future auto industry, which consists of self-driving, electric, and tuner cars. Starting with 800 booths in 2017, the event has grown to host 272 companies from 26 countries in 2019, with over 80 domestic and overseas future auto experts participating in lectures and exchanges
of future cars.
International Water Industry Conference (IWIC)

The IWIC brings together local companies from the Korean Water Industry Cluster that share the mutual goal of international expansion and attracting overseas investment, and continues its efforts to achieve a “standard of excellence”
in the Regional Specialized Convention project organized by the Korea Tourism Organization. With five universities in the area including Kyungpook National University, and a variety of water-related institutions that provide abundant human resources and R&D facilities, Daegu is an ideal region to foster international exchange between industry, academia, and research sectors.
PV Market Insight (PVMI)

PVMI aims to become Asia’s representative new renewable energy conference that can forecast trends in the global photovoltaic industry and business strategies of international companies. As the longest running new renewable energy exhibition in Korea, the 3rd largest in Asia and 10th largest in the world,
the event is concurrently held with the International Green Energy Expo & Conference, which has been certified by The Global Association of Exhibition Industry (UFI). The international event is growing to become the market network for domestic and international photovoltaic industry experts.
Global Medical Tourism Convention

Partnered with Medi Expo Korea, the largest medical industry expo outside of
the capital region, the Global Daegu Medical Tourism Conference is held each year with over 100 participants from seven countries.

This international event is hosted by the leading medical institution promoting Daegu’s medical tourism. The event aims to spread awareness of Daegu’s excellent medical technology through its well-developed medical infrastructure. In addition to lectures, the event consists of various academic programs, including live streaming of surgery to facilitate a greater understanding of medical technology, and a real-time Q&A session to allow for interactions between its participants.
International Heat Wave Response Forum

Hosted every year since 2016, the Daegu International Heat Wave forum seeks to develop Daegu into a model city that addresses the global heat wave through academic research and exchange of climate change and heat waves. The forum plans for future growth by improving heat wave response capabilities and enhancing public health through public education on climate change and heat waves, and by accelerating the development of the city as a test bed for
the cooling industry.
