20 August, 2015, Daegu, Republic of Korea: This coming September, the world renowned scholars, professors, and medical staff specializing in endoscope/celioscope surgery and peritoneal dialysis will visit the City of Daegu.

The 12th Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia 2015 (ELSA 2015) will be hosted from 2 September to 5 September, and the 7th Asia Pacific Chapter Meeting of International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis (APCM-ISPD) will be held from 17 to 19 September, both at EXCO, Daegu.

Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia 2015 anticipates around 2,000 endoscopic and laparoscopic surgeons and medical staff from 33 countries, where live surgery will be conducted simultaneously on 3 and 4 September for two days at Seoul National University Hospital and Kyungbuk National University Hospital. On 4 September, 3D live surgery will be conducted to vividly show Daegu’s medical knowledge and skills in endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery, a very significant opportunity to raise the statue of both the region and the Republic of Korea.

On the other hand, Asia Pacific Chapter Meeting of International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis, which will bring together around 1,500 researchers from 30 nations around the world, will serve as a venue to share the new and most up to date research results of the subject matter experts. Hosting this conference has raised the bar for Daegu ? the home to the most vibrant clinical research in comparison to other regions ? to play a leading role in the field of peritoneal dialysis in the region.

As it is very rare to host a series of large scale international medical conferences with more than 1,500 participants, hopes and expectations reveal that these events will serve as a stepping stone to vitalize hosting future international medical events.

An official from Daegu Convention and Visitor’s Bureau has revealed “with hosting a series of large scale medical conferences, we will promote the excellence of Daegu’s medical industry, and raise the statue of ‘Medi-City Daegu’, thus playing our role as a cornerstone for the improvement of the region’s medical industry.”
